Description

The aim of our course is to provide a comprehensive update on embryo selection techniques, using artificial intelligence software to improve embryo selection.

We will also devote time to the principles of embryo development and selection, and will demonstrate time-lapse cinematography as a tool for embryo selection. Clinical data will be provided to consolidate its usefulness, and the following concepts will be discussed:

• Embryo selection

• Environmental control in incubation

• Latest research on time-lapse

• Considerations regarding culture media

• Embryo selection using time-lapse and AI systems

• Exact development times

In the practical part, we will introduce the clinical use of the Embryoscope and Geri and practise embryo selection using the score obtained after observing the embryos in the time-lapse systems. We will practise using film viewers to evaluate embryo quality and select embryos for transfer, based not only on the morphology observed but also on the scores associated with the exact timing of embryo divisions and other processes associated with development, as well as selection algorithms based on artificial intelligence.

Students will have the opportunity to visit our laboratory and observe how decisions are made in real cases (selecting the best embryo for transfer and vitrification of surplus embryos).
